SHEFFIELD WEDNESDAY RAINBOW OWLS

Established in 2023, Rainbow Owls is the independent and officially recognised LGBTQ+ and allies supporters' group for Sheffield Wednesday fans. 

Shortlisted at both the FSA Fans For Diversity and Football v Homophobia awards, Rainbow Owls has helped to cultivate a more inclusive environment for all Owls fans at Hillsborough. 

This has ranged from holding joint socials with more than a dozen LGBTQ+ supporters' groups, both home and away, as well as the first Football v Transphobia matchday at a professional football stadium in association with Sheffield Wednesday FC Community Programme.

The group's annual Wednesday Pride fan conference is also built on their four cornerstones of collaboration, community, education and visibility.

Campaigns officer Sam: "Football hasn’t always felt like the most inclusive environment, but Rainbow Owls helps to provide a supportive and welcoming space where our members can fully express their passion for Sheffield Wednesday without reservation."
